Gelbana WWTP is one of the major projects implemented under the national initiative “Hayah Karima” . Its primary objective is to treat wastewater and dispose of it in an environmentally safe manner. The plant is strategically located to serve the villages of Gelbana, Al Shahid Hamdy Al Bayumy, Altal Al Ahmar, Alfayruz, Abo Saada, Al Gabal Al Akhdar, and Al Zohour, with a total current population of 31,500 and an estimated future population of 62,000 by 2057. The plant is equipped with advanced technologies to ensure efficient treatment and safe disposal of wastewater. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of the region
